orchid & burgundy

Pink is a strange color. In my middle school days, all the girls swore off bubblegum pink. But in the 19th century, pink was a gender-neutral nursery color. And back in the 18th century, it was considered masculine, even warlike.

Do I actually like pink? Or is it because I’ve been socialized that way? It’s something I think about from time to time. But on this day, and in this sun, pink felt right.

Awesome color combination, I really love the contrast between the light pastel pink and a strong dark color, it looks amazing! 😀

My last name is Pink and because of that I think I’ve always sort of resisted the color. It’s always seemed too garish, too loud, and all together just not me. But I’ve recently really come into my own wearing soft pink, which feels more sophisticated and less aggressive than other shades. This outfit is a really wonderful take on pinks. Also love your photo layout. Keep it up girl!
