florals & folktales

One of the stops on our recent road-trip in Europe was Colmar, a town seated in the Alsace wine region of France. Wandering around Colmar was like stepping straight into a medieval folk tale (DSLR-toting tourists aside). Quaint canals weave through the old town of cobblestone alleyways and pastel-colored houses — there was a lot of neck-craning and photo-snapping (fun fact: Colmar served as inspiration for the design of the Japanese animated film Howl’s Moving Castle! I can’t blame Miyazaki).

A place as beautiful as Colmar deserved a special dress. And — I know, I’m becoming a little predictable — I went with another Self-portrait dress. Adorned with intricate floral lace details and semi-sheer panels, this voile midi is confidently feminine with a playful, peek-a-boo element to it. It’s one of those pieces that makes me feel beautiful and comfortable. Whether you have a special vacation coming up (it packs so well – no wrinkles), want an alternative to wedding gowns, or need to refresh your special-event wardrobe, this beauty will do the trick.
