gingham & serotonin

I wasn’t sure it was ever going to arrive, but it’s here. The season of sun! I wake up to sunny skies and leave work into a still-sunlit day. Have you been feeling like everyone is happier? That there’s more pep in your step?

Well, that pep is somewhat thanks to serotonin, the feel-good neurotransmitter that contributes to our feelings of cheer and happiness. And the rate of production of serotonin is directly related to the duration of sunlight. Basically, more sunlight = more serotonin = more happiness. So goodbye, winter blues, and thank you, brain.

Summer festivities (and heat) call for easy-breezy clothes. This gingham dress falls easily into that category. It’ll take you from picnics in the day to dancing at night – no fuss needed. Speaking of easy, a nude sandal is probably my most-worn shoe during the summer. This one, with its slight heel and barely-there straps, is a no-brainer. And what’s summer without a good boater hat? Give me a picnic blanket, some food (preferably fries), and let the serotonin production commence.

What an adorable dress! I love that it appears to have two designs – one from afar & one from up close. :]

Thank you Carmen!! That’s actually something I didn’t notice until I was looking through photos from the shoot. I loved the dress even more after that. 🙂
